Abstract

Agriculture is still the leading sector in development in Indonesia. In the period 2018 to 2021 the agricultural sector is still in second place with the highest contribution to Indonesia's GDP, reaching 13.22%, in this case including forestry and fisheries. A positive growth of 1.77% broadly, and narrow farming will experience an increase of 2.13%. Agricultural cultivation which is quite close to rural communities has a strong relationship with the culture there, one of which is patriarchal culture. Inequality brings inequality for women in agricultural cultivation. This study aims to analyze how the paradigm of gender equality in rural communities affects the contribution of women in agricultural cultivation. The research was conducted qualitatively with a phenomenological approach. Based on the results of the research, it shows that the paradigm that is carried is a positivistic paradigm so that it continues to perpetuate gender inequality. The things that cause this are lifestyle, experience, culture, stigma and stereotypes in society. To solve this, a revolution of thought is needed to bring a new paradigm that is more relevant. Achieving equality will increase the development of the agricultural sector.
