Factors Affecting Millennials' Interest in Becoming Agropreneurs
Abstract
The current problem in the agricultural world is the lack of interest among millennials to become agropreneurs, which affects food security in Indonesia. Farmers are dominated by individuals over the age of 40, making the role of millennials crucial in developing the agricultural sector. This generation possesses the ability to adapt and innovate with advancing technologies. The research aims to describe millennials' interest and analyze the influence of internal factors (formal education, land area, experience, income) and external factors (social environment, community environment, resource availability, assistance) on their interest in becoming agropreneurs. The analysis methods used are quantitative descriptive and multiple linear regression. The results show that 92% of the 42 respondents are interested in becoming agropreneurs. Positive influencing factors include formal education, land area, experience, income, and assistance, while social environment, family environment, and resource availability have no effect. Socialization or training on agricultural entrepreneurship is needed to enhance millennials' interest in becoming agropreneurs and continue the agricultural regeneration in Indonesia.
