Pengaruh Intermitten Lighting Program Terhadap Performa Ayam Ras Petelur Fase Starter
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Light is an essential point that is related to growth and development, controlling physiological processes, feed consumption and uniformity of laying hens. This research aims to determine the effect of the Intermittent Lighting Program on laying hens in the starter phase by observing the performance of the chickens in that phase. The research method was carried out by observing laying hens in the starter phase aged 1-14 days at PT. Jatinom Indah Farm Group, Blitar Regency. Observation and maintenance management activities include feeding, setting the lighting program, grading body weight, checking crop fill, checking light intensity and observing chicken behavior to obtain primary data of research variables. Observations were deepened by interview with the General Manager of starter phase to strengthen the research data. The results showed that the Intermittent Lighting Program had an effect on feed intake by actualizing feed consumption according to the standard, namely 17 grams/head/day, crop fill percentage reach 93% and actualizing body weight achievement of 133 grams/head, higher than the standard of 120 grams/head. Base on the results, it can be concluded that the Intermittent Lighting Program has a good influence on feed intake, crop fill and body weight in starter phase laying hens aged 1-14 days. Achieving good performance in the starter phase will also influence the chicken's performance in subsequent growth phases.
