The increasing global demand for animal protein has driven the intensification of livestock production systems. While providing economic benefits, this intensification also creates serious problems through greater volumes of livestock waste such as manure, leftover feed, bedding, and liquid waste. Improper management can become a major source of infectious disease transmission, accelerate antimicrobial resistance, and pollute water, air, and soil. The findings show that sustainable waste management must be integrated with strict biosecurity, including composting, anaerobic digestion, standardized storage facilities, and proper pest control and carcass disposal. Such measures suppress pathogen spread, lower greenhouse gas emissions, enhance soil and water quality, and generate valuable by-products like organic fertilizer and biogas. Thus, effective livestock waste management is essential for preventing infectious diseases, maintaining environmental sustainability, and supporting public welfare. This emphasizes the importance of effective livestock waste management to prevent infectious diseases, maintain environmental sustainability, and support public welfare. This study applied a literature review approach by examining scientific journals and relevant publications on livestock waste management, biosecurity practices, and their impacts on animal, human, and environmental health.
