Abstract

Neem leaf meal (Azadirachta indica) was tested as an antibiotic growth promoter (AGP) to increase broiler chicken productivity in this study. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of neem leaf meal on broiler chicken growth performance using a systematic research method with an experimental approach. Parameters measured included feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and chicken mortality rate. The results showed that neem leaf meal significantly increased body weight gain and feed efficiency and reduced mortality compared to the control group. Additionally, the supplementation of neem leaf meal supported better nutrient digestibility and positive effects on immune response and carcass quality. Therefore, neem leaf meal is effective as a natural AGP to support broiler chicken productivity while also promoting poultry health. Further research is needed to explore the optimal dosage and its impact on chicken meat quality and long-term health benefits. This study suggests neem leaf meal is a promising herbal alternative to synthetic antibiotics in broiler production, contributing to safer and more sustainable poultry farming.
