Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of the age of KUB-2 Janaka laying hens and feed on egg production and hen day production. The study used a quantitative approach with a sample of 183 hens aged 6-18 months. The data on hen age, egg production, and hen day production were collected from documents related to KUB-2 Janaka chicken development activities at IAMI Banten from August 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025. The data was analyzed using a repeated measures ANOVA test to determine the significance of differences in hen age with egg production and hen day production, while the effects of hen age were analyzed using simple linear regression utilizing SPSS software. The results are as follows: 1) there is a significant difference (Sig. 0.00 < 0.05) in egg production and hen day production among laying hens aged 6-18 months; 2) the age of laying hens significantly affected egg production in a negative direction with a total effect of 63.3%; and 3) the age of laying hens significantly affected hen day production in a negative direction with a total effect of 44%. The increase in egg production and hen day production only occurred up to 36 weeks of age. The results indicate that egg production increases at specific age.
